What a spectacular day! The scenery from the midpoint on was fantastic. Like great slabs of the earth were suddenly thrust up from one end forming giant ramps; now snow topped or holding giant hanging glaciers. I’m sure my pictures will be inadequate.

I expected an easy 20 miles today, but it didn’t turn out that way. There were a fair bit of navigation challenges since the trail was pretty nonexistent. We missed a turn after a lunch break and ended up on the wrong trail and a couple thousand feet up and away from our trail, so we bushwacked in the right general direction to get back to cataract creek and then went cross country toward cataract pass. It was actually kind of fun after we got above tree line. Everyone took a slightly different line and we met up at the pass.

After the pass we were in Jasper on good trails and enjoying jaw dropping views.

It’s almost 11 and I need to sleep
